Tune the smart EQ to 95 PS and > 140 km/h or simply make it regenerate more

  • Starting from January 1st, 2023 I will have to introduce new prices for the tuning kits for the smart ED & EQ. Unfortunately, my purchase prices are rising and so I have to raise the prices for the first time since the tuning kits where launched.

I'm sorry that I have to bother you with advertising, but also that I have to raise the prices. It is of course not the aim of this site to feed you with advertising. But in this case I would like to make an exception so that nobody is surprised afterwards.

  • Hi Moritz, I've received the tuning kit on the 24th and I'll be making an attempt to install it today! Would you kindly share the link that I can't seem to find on my own again to download the instructions for installation please? Also Is there any weatherproofing protection you would recommend to apply or install on the wiring for the kit? Thanks!

    That's not needed. :)

  • also I went to a neighborhood small General auto service shop and the service head said He wouldn't install it because of concern it would require software tuning as well and he cant do that. I felt he was thinking it was for an internal combustion engine, I didn't think to say it in the moment that it was electric but I felt like that was his scapegoat for not doing it. What do you think? It says "PLUG AND PLAY" 😄

  • Moritz, I think I can identify the plug outlined in blue, this one goes into the motor but where does the plug outlined in red go?

In order to connect one side of the cable to your motor, you first need to unplug a cable. This, just unpluged cable, is then connected to the other side (the red one). In the end, the tuning sits in between the cable to your motor.

There is no further Software tuning requiered. It is plug'n play ;) . (Don't forget to also connect ground and 12V+)

  • because of concern it would require software tuning as well and he cant do that.

It does not. That's the beauty of the kit.

  • Moritz, how am I to remove the electric motor connector? (Image #3) Where am I to squeeze or push in? Am I to push on the tab on the side on the left side of the connector and wiggle it out? This tab, which has grip lines on it, feels like its going to break when I lift and pull it out from being flush with the rest of the connector.

  • I don't know it out of my head. But I'd check the connector from the wiring harness of the tuning kit, which is supposed to be plugged in to the motor. Should be easy to see there, how the connector works, as it's the same.

  • The grey plug is a pain to disconnect. It's at controller of the motor on the front side so between the motor and the rear axle. You have to squeeze really hard to disconnect. If you look at het link Moritz provided a few post's above you see the plug marked with a circle. at the left side you see a bulge or bulb of some kind. That is where you have to push to pull the plug. In my experience you pull of the cover easier than the complete plug and you have to squeeze harder, but you're maybe lucky..
