is it still worth to buy Smart 453 ForTwo

    And I still thinking about smart ForTwo, and the still question is whether it is worth buying it or on the market, it is not any more valuable due to its small range.

    Prices are still high, and many alternatives like VW ID series, but all are large cars.

    For example, if I buy Smart Fortwo according to your experience is it ok for the next 3 years incase of battary degradation (15000km per year), if I’ll drive carefully? And is it possible after free years to find the new battery in Germany if need?


    Such Smart in Germany I can buy for 18600eur, But in Georgia we can buy ID4 Prime(top 4x4) - 49000eur.

    Whether the smart is it's amount worth to you, is something I'd say only you can say. Personally, I do still love the fortwo for it's small form factor and especially the cabrio for having to munch character. Of course I could get a car with more range, more power or something else. But it wouldn't be a small car and therefor not what I love the fortwo the most for.


    I wouldn't fear about the battery at all. First of all, you've got a guarantee from smart for your battery. This covers it for the first 100.000 km / 10 years (whatever comes first). so even if it would be dead after your 3 years, you would get one for free. But as we've already seen, it won't be dead at all after this time. Actually, my 2018 had > 100.000 km after 3 years and still had a great battery.

    The smart you picked in the photo seen above seems like a nice car to me. Cabrio, full LED head- and tail lights and not very old. I'd take it for a test drive and decide after that whether I'd like to get it or not. ;)

    Didn't knew about warranty, in this case it is no worries. only problem could be I have to take Smart to Georgia, and After calling to local MB dealer they said no support for any Smart cars. Hope, after official request (if it will be needed) they will find way to support me.

    Usually there is not much to do with the smart EQ cars. If they want to support your smart, they can easily lern how to do it. For these few things they don't even need extra tools.


    It could happen, that the smart needs to come back to Germany for warranty claims. But that's a risk I would take. As the chances are near cero, that you will actually need to make any warranty claims. And even if you have to one day, feel free to ask here for help. We'll figure something our.

    Buy the way I have Lexus NX300 2019 (it has all that can have this model, we have two of them one for me one for wife), and Ford Custom for family trips and mountain bikes, but Smart is something special! Always firs on cross roads, no problems for parking, no fees for parking, top quality materials and also what is important no service needed!

    Has it got the 22 kW charger? Other than that it looks fully loaded.
