Why are there so much less horsepower in the vehicle registration card than my electric car actually has?

  • In the vehicle certificate is usually a lower motor output than the manufacturers advertise. The two numbers are simply explained: These are the continuous power, like that peak power of the vehicle.

For example: The fourth generation smart electric drive (ED4) is capable of 41kW continuous power and 60kW peak power. The full 60kW can be delivered for a few minutes, while the 41kW can be provided continuously.
