The Chinese variant has this combination of DC GB/T and AC GB/T plugs because the GB/T standard in China is required by law to be at every car. The Chinese GB/T connector has no advantages over CCS. It is simply required by law in China and accordingly smart has no choice but to install it there.
It is noticeable that the AC part (right socket) looks like type 2, but it is not. This is the original version of what Type 2 looked like at the very beginning. Which was also featured at the Smart ED2. Instead of the pins in the car, you used to have the sockets in the car and the pins in the cable. This was then reversed shortly thereafter, since sockets theoretically break faster than pins. But is still use it that way in China. AC GB/T is also electrically compatible with Type 2 and Type 1.
